New Kid On The Block ... It is home, and the new addition handled like a pro as it ate up the miles
from San Diego to Dallas. Considering the lighter weight of the bike, it rode
like a much heavier touring bike.
What is it? Go here ... BMW HP2 Super Motard

Naked Bikes Suck
What do I mean by that? A naked bike is absolutely fun and practical for a ride to work or the local bar. But cross-country, long distance? No!!! Flew to San Diego to pick up my new Dual Sport ride. Picked up the HP2 in San Diego, and carried soft-side bags on the plane for the ride to Dallas. Stopped on the road somewhere in the California desert to call Al Jesse. I wanted one of his famous windshields - yesterday! After riding the distance from southern California to Phoenix it felt good to be in Al Jesse's shop in Glendale to install the new windshield. Riding a naked bike at highway speeds is no fun. (I don't care what Jesse James says.) Modified from a F650 windshield, the only modification is to cut holes for the turn indicators. The custom bracket by Al is perfect, mounts easily, and helps to protect the instrument cluster.
On the road with the new windshield installed.
A New reserve tankfor the HP2. Will give a boost of about 2 3/4 gals. An increase almost doubling the range. This picture is from another HP2 with the modifications. My tank is not welded up yet. Will be completed over the next few days. Then it is off to the powder-coater to match the gray color of the HP2.
